The following is an abreviated list of local area attractions:
American Adventures. A theme park for young children.
Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Simply beautiful. Take mom there for Mother's day!
Centennial Olympic Park. Atlanta did an amazing job of converting a run-down section of town into a 21 acre park for all to enjoy.
Childrens Museum of Atlanta. The Children’s Museum of Atlanta creates environments and activities where young children can experience the power of imagination and the pure delight of learning with each other and with grown-ups.
Fernbank. This site takes you to both the Fernbank Science Center and the Fernbank Museum of Natural History.
Georgia Aquarium. The world’s largest aquarium and the feature Atlanta attraction. Featuring eight million gallons of water and more sea life than any other aquarium. IMAX® Theatre. Visit their site to purchase tickets online.
Kennesaw Mountain. A national battlefield park.
Lake Allatoona. Located only 30 miles from Atlanta, Georgia, Allatoona Lake is situated on the Etowah River, a tributary of the Coosa River. The serene lake and peaceful surroundings offer a respite from the rush of city living.
Marietta Gone With the Wind Museum. Established in April of 2003 and currently houses Dr. Christopher Sullivan's privately owned collection of Gone With The Wind book and movie memorabilia.
Silver Comet Trail. The Silver Comet Trail is part of a larger system that utilizes the railroad track bed that connected Atlanta to Birmingham. This paved pathway extends over 12.8 miles from south Cobb to Paulding County. The eastern extension of the trail will extend to the Cumberland-Galleria area, the largest employment Center in Cobb County.
Six Flags. Roller coasters galore! Six Flags owns and operates American Adventures and White Water.
Theatre in the Square. Theatre In The Square is a year-round professional theatre, producing a five-show subscription season as well as summer and holiday shows. It is one of the Southeast's most respected regional arts institutions, consistently ranked as one of Georgia's top professional theatres. The theatre is a community-based organization governed by a volunteer board of directors consisting of civic leaders from the metro-Atlanta/Cobb County area. It is largely responsible for the revitalization of the Marietta Square, with a $5.3-million economic impact on Cobb County.
White Water. Located next to American Adventures, there are more than enough waters activities to keep you busy all season long.
World of Coca-Cola®. Welcome to the world's largest collection of Coke memorabilia. Located next to the Georgia Aquarium.
Zoo Atlanta. From the Atlanta Zoo website: "Located in historic Grant Park, minutes from downtown Atlanta and Turner Field, Zoo Atlanta is one of Georgia's most loved institutions. Founded in 1889, it is one of the 10 oldest zoos in continuous operation in the United States."
